Event Description

September's protest is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2009, at the fountain of Dede Plaza of Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN. Mr. LaVey and I have been recruiting in Terre Haute, so we expect a good turn out. Please note that on Saturdays and Sundays, ALL of ISU's parking lots are free parking, so that will not be an issue. Let's shoot for noon, but we'll see what happens. ALSO, by university rules, we cannot distribute fliers at the protest. Bring your signs (without sticks...) and make our presence known in that way.

Also, if you see anyone hanging around, don't be too suspicious of them. ISU police are known for having one or two undercover police officers in the area during events such as this.

Remember why we are in Terre Haute - The Scilons have infiltrated Vigo County School Corporation, the public school system of Terre Haute. We are protesting on a college campus because college students are probably the easiest to recruit into our ranks, and the most susceptible to the Scilon's trickery.

Campus Map
- On that map, Dede Plaza is location number 10. All of the parking lots are also labeled. Remember, they are all free parking, no matter what they are labeled on that map, over the weekends.

Protest Flier - Print that flier on cardstock and use it the way you would a You Found The Card. We can't distribute fliers at the event, but we can use these to ADVERTISE the event! Get to it!

Event Flier - Post this flier in public areas to get people to attend!

This event description will be updated throughout the planning process. Every time I reply to this thread about an update, re-read this description.

Also, I forgot to mention... There may or may not be a reporter from a Terre Haute news TV station there to film and interview... Clear your schedule!

Awesome. I want to attend, but I'm not sure if I can. If I can get a ride I will most definitely be there.

I am pretty sure I can be there. It all depends on if I can get ahold of one of my parents' cars that day. I am hoping for the best

UPDATE: LaVey has spoken with the receptionist at the ISU police dept. She said she will pass on all of the info to the people who make the final decision, primarily because we are in masks. LaVey has the paperwork now, and we are waiting on word from the ISU police. The receptionist said that she would call LaVey by Tuesday with that info.

In the mean time, I've decided that we are going to make this protest huge. Let's blow our current record of 11 participants out of the water! I've already made a kind of flier to advertise the event, and I will start distributing it and post it here for YOU all to distribute you after we get the go-ahead from ISU. Stay tuned!

Another thing - I recently acquired over 2,000 pages of FBI files about the CoS and LRH, released under the Freedom of Information Act. I am willing to burn them to CDs and distribute at the September protest, BUT I need a count of how many people want a copy. Note that I will only distribute them at this protest. Bribery to attend? Of course not! Anyways, if you'll be there and want a copy, I need to know soon.

Gentlemen, we have the nod from ISU Public Safety to go ahead with the rally. I have it in writing. HOWEVER, there are two conditions of this protest;

1. NO SOLICITING. I'm sorry fellas, but the gentleman I spoke to said we are not allowed to hand out flyers, cards, etc. as we are not an official ISU student organization. This is university policy.

2. Our signs may not be attached to poles or rods. This is for our own safety; should things get out of hand, Public Safety doesn't want our implements of peaceful assembly and free speech turned against us or members of the crowd.

As a final note, I will be speaking to the people in the ISU Commons about getting some pre-event flyers posted so that we can draw a crowd.

There ya go, folks. This month's focus will be on our signs, not our flier. Get to it! However, we CAN distribute flier before the event, to advertise the event itself... Speak of which, I'll be uploading the flier I made for it. This flier is designed to be used just like the You Found The Card cards... Drop it somewhere that someone will find it. Leave it in a seat in a restaurant, prop it against an ashtray, or however you wanna do it.

Anyone good at making fliers? My Photoshop blew up on me.

We want color fliers to promote the event, not for at the event. If possible, make one with teh little tear-off tabs on teh bottom. These will be posted all around Terre Haute. Get to it!

Flyers are pretty easy to make if you have Microsoft Works and Microsoft Word.
