Greetings fellow Anons,
Our demonstration this afternoon went very well. We had around ten people there, including the participants and a couple people there for moral support. While not our biggest crowd yet (that record goes to the February 10th, 2008 rally in Indianapolis with around 30 participants there), it was a good size number. Today was Family Day at ISU so we had a bigger crowd than we originally thought. We also had reporters from the Indiana Statesman and WTHI there. The Statesman also sent their photographer as well, so media presence was the best we’ve ever had an event. The Statesman’s article is expected to run on Monday and as far as the WTHI coverage, Anon Indy will be keeping track of that. With the exception of me, Indy and Mr. Brown, the rest of our participants were first-timers and they fully plan on being at our next event. Despite not being able to hand out flyers, we did get our message out as the curious came up to ask us questions about what we were doing. We kept ourselves entertained through spreading the word and dancing to the music provided by myself and Indy.
We didn’t have any open hostility at the event, nor were we harassed or bothered by Campus PD. However, there was a woman who just stood there and stared at us for about ten minutes and there was a gentleman on a bicycle who rode by yelling strange things at us. I’m not sure exactly what he was yelling at us, but I doubt it was “Happy Birthday”. Outside of these and the usual strange glances from people, we didn’t have any trouble.
The bottom line, this was a great event and we will probably have another rally at ISU in the near future. I hope more of you will come out for the next one.
-Mr. LaVey
